About the Role
As a Workshop Quality Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of work from our workshop by carrying out road tests on completed vehicles. Your success will be measured by producing well-maintained/repaired motor vehicles that meet our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist service reception when a vehicle is to be tested with a customer before it enters the workshop.
- Inspect new vehicles and assist with small, waiting repairs to help resolve issues quickly.
- Ensure the workshop remains neat and tidy, controlling the workshop cleaners.
- Operate the wash bay efficiently, controlling wash bay staff.
- Check that work carried out on vehicle corresponds with work requested on job card.
- Carry out road tests to confirm that work requested has been completed correctly.
- Liaise with workshop foreman and technicians on failed road tests.
- Sign off job card timeously when satisfied that all work has been carried out correctly.
- Monitor the number of failed road tests, discussing possible action plans with Service Manager and Workshop Foreman.
- Go out on minor breakdowns.
Requirements
- Relevant technical experience in a workshop or similar environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective liaison with workshop foreman, technicians, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures.
Qualifications
- Formal education in a relevant field (e.g., automotive, engineering) is an advantage but not required.
