The Maintenance QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and engineering processes comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in refinery or manufacturing environments.
2. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).

7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or refinery environment.

Proven experience in maintenance quality assurance and quality control.

Solid understanding of refinery equipment, rotating machinery, static equipment, electrical systems, and maintenance best practices.

Familiarity with ISO standards, QA/QC methodologies, and industrial safety regulations.
3. Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Quality Control
-
Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC procedures for all maintenance activities.
-
Inspect and verify maintenance work, repairs, installations, and equipment replacements.
-
Review and validate maintenance documentation, test reports, and quality records.
-
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company standards, engineering designs, and regulatory requirements.
Maintenance & Technical Support
-
Provide technical guidance to maintenance teams to ensure quality workmanship.
-
Perform root-cause analyses on equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
-
Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.
-
Monitor contractor performance and verify compliance with QA/QC standards.
Reporting & Documentation

Prepare QA/QC reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective action follow-ups.

Maintain up-to-date records on inspections, audits, and quality checks.

Assist in preparing audits and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance

Ensure maintenance activities adhere to HSE standards and safe working procedures.

Participate in risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.

Promote a culture of quality, safety, and operational excellence.
4. Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of industrial QA/QC processes.

Excellent understanding of refinery or heavy manufacturing equipment.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.

5. Preferred Qualifications

Certification in QA/QC Engineering (e.g., ASQ, API, ISO).

Experience working in oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial plants.

Knowledge of international engineering and quality standards (API, ASME, IEC, ISO).
