About the Role
The Implementation & Platform Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the software commissioning and support of our mining process monitoring systems, working closely with clients to identify, implement, and test optimal software solutions. This position requires a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients in identifying, implementing, and testing optimal software solutions.
- Installation, testing, and troubleshooting of software solutions.
- Calibration and configuration of sensor software installed on site.
- Monitoring servers and sensors deployed in the field on an ongoing basis as part of standby support and during deployment phase of a project.
- Commissioning of software via Ansible, Azure IoT, Git, and Docker Containers.
- Create and update Support and Commissioning documentation.
- Debug networking issues systematically.
- Inform relevant team(s), as well as internal and external stakeholders where needed, if issues are detected in software that hinders clients operation.
- Ensure clients are satisfied with the results of implemented solutions provided by company.
- Keep clients in the loop when addressing issue during the project deployment phase.
- Assist internal & client IT departments with infrastructure architecture planning and maintenance.
Requirements
- Certificate or diploma in IT or related qualification.
- At least 3-5 years experience in an Application, Implementation, IT support, or a similar role, in the IT and tech industry.
- Comfortable with Linux over the command line/SSH.
- Working knowledge of IP networking, network debugging and basic firewall setup.
- Basic knowledge of scripting with Python or Bash.
- Comfortable reading/editing TOML, JSON and Python config files.
- Knowledge of cloud IoT technologies, such as AWS/Azure IoT (advantageous).
- Knowledge of Docker/Containers (advantageous).
- Experience with OPC industrial protocol (beneficial).
- Working knowledge of SQL Databases and SQL Queries (beneficial).
