Job Description

The Operator will be responsible for running and monitoring dairy processing equipment in line with standard operating procedures. This includes ensuring smooth production, maintaining product quality, and meeting daily production targets. The role involves operating machinery such as pasteurisers, homogenisers, and separators, while keeping accurate records of production output, downtime, and resource usage. You will work closely with the quality assurance team to test products, follow QA procedures, and ensure all materials meet required standards. In addition, the Operator will assist with plant cleanliness, basic maintenance, and reporting any equipment issues. The role requires adherence to safety standards and the ability to work shifts, weekends, and in demanding production environments. Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 (or equivalent) Relevant experience in a production or dairy processing environment Basic computer literacy Fluent in Business English (spoken and written) Ability to operate and understand processing equipment Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays Ability to work in physically demanding and high-temperature environments Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards Good communication and teamwork skills Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently Basic understanding of health, safety, and hygiene practices in a plant environment
