About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team in Somerset West. As a key member of our small, expert team, you will play a critical role in supporting advanced engineering programmes by managing the full procurement lifecycle. With access to a global network of partners, you will be responsible for securing the right components, services, and suppliers to support complex, high-stakes engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, precision-machined components, consumables, and services
- Secure the best commercial terms across pricing, quality, delivery, and support
- Build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with key suppliers
- Evaluate suppliers and sourcing channels based on technical and commercial requirements
- Manage RFQs, purchase orders, delivery tracking, logistics, claims, and invoicing
- Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, finance, project management, and quality teams
- Address supplier non-conformances and drive corrective actions
- Develop strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and shortages
- Maintain supplier databases, conduct evaluations, and perform audits
- Drive cost improvements and benchmark supplier performance
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in procurement or supply chain (preferably in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment)
- Strong understanding of sourcing within technical/engineering sectors
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of Import/Export regulations and INCOTERMS
- Understanding of quality and environmental standards
