About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer (SDET) to join our client’s team in Cape Town City Centre. As a critical member of the engineering process, you will design and build robust automation frameworks that ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of modern cloud-native applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build automation frameworks for APIs, UI, and backend services
- Collaborate with software engineers to bake quality into microservices and micro-frontend architectures from day one
- Own automation across multiple areas and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Help shape how quality engineering evolves in a modern DevOps environment
- Utilize contemporary tools and practices for problem-solving at the system level
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years experience in formal testing roles within structured engineering environments
- Strong programming ability in Java (Spring Boot preferred)
- Proven experience testing microservices and micro-frontends in cloud-native architectures
- Hands-on automation experience for Angular applications
- Experience building automated tests for REST APIs, UI components, and backend services
