About the Role
As a SQL Administrator at Persona Staff, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our Microsoft SQL Server environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and system health of our databases, as well as developing and implementing solutions to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Monitor database performance, security, and system health
- Manage backups, recovery processes, and disaster recovery solutions
- Develop and maintain T-SQL scripts, queries, and stored procedures
- Perform performance tuning on queries and database structures
- Troubleshoot and resolve database and data-related issues
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards based on business requirements
- Extract, analyse, and validate data for accuracy and completeness
- Support internal users with data queries and reporting needs
- Investigate system issues and implement effective solutions
- Document processes, systems, and changes
- Escalate and resolve technical problems where required
Requirements
- Relevant Degree or National Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in SQL Database Administration and Development
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2012 / 2017 / 2019)
- Solid T-SQL scripting and database management skills
- Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and database security
- Exposure to performance tuning, log shipping, and disaster recovery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
