About the Role

MECS Africa is seeking an experienced Applications Support Administrator to join our team. As the primary point of contact for ERP-related inquiries, you will provide technical support to users and ensure seamless system operations. Your expertise in configuring, customizing, and maintaining ERP systems will be instrumental in meeting business requirements and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for ERP-related inquiries and provide technical support to users.
  • Configure, customize, and maintain ERP systems to meet business requirements and operational goals.
  • Manage user access, roles, and permissions while ensuring compliance with IT governance and audit standards.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular backups, and resolve errors or downtime issues promptly.
  • Coordinate and oversee system upgrades, patches, and version control to maintain system reliability.
  • Provide first-line support for ERP, payroll, and other business applications, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement system improvements and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain workflows, reports, dashboards, and other system enhancements to improve functionality.
  • Continuously assess and optimize system performance by identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Support and contribute to software enhancement and digital transformation projects.
  • Prepare and maintain audit documentation such as access logs, authorization records, and system change reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal IT policies, audit protocols, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Manage IT asset records, oversee software licensing, and participate in disaster recovery planning.
  • Conduct user training sessions to improve system adoption and provide ongoing application support.
  • Develop, update, and maintain user manuals, technical documentation, and training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • ERP system certification (e.g., Sage X3, Sage300, or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • ITIL or similar service management certification advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ERP or business application administration.
  • Experience managing multi-company ERP environments and intercompany transactions.
  • Knowledge of SQL-based platforms, role-based security, and system integrations.
  • Familiarity with HR, Payroll, and Self-Service modules.
