About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our client’s team in Muizenberg, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing cost accounting support to the manufacturing department and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and update Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Monitor and adjust costs based on supplier price changes
  • Work closely with production, technical, and finance teams
  • Perform stock and inventory-related tasks
  • Assist with costing and financial reporting
  • Compile Excel reports (pivot tables, formulas, graphs)

Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (non-negotiable)
  • Strong knowledge of BOM (Bill of Materials) and stock control
  • Experience with job costing (average cost)
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, reporting)
  • Understanding of accounts payable/receivable
  • Experience on Pastel Partner (advantageous)
  • Relevant accounting/finance qualification (advantageous)
