About the Role
E-Merge, a dynamic and innovative company in Johannesburg, is seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer to join their team. We are looking for a talented individual who has a strong background in AWS and Docker to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS. This is a permanent position offering a hybrid work model, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS.
- Develop and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters with EKS.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment processes.
- Develop automation scripts and tools using Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to enhance system reliability, performance, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in cloud technologies and DevOps.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, with a focus on AWS.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Docker.
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Expertise in managing Kubernetes clusters using EKS.
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
