About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Code 14 Cross-Border Driver with a valid manual transmission truck driving license to join our team at Greys Recruitment. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for transporting cargo safely across borders and ensuring compliance with customs, immigration, and border control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Code 14 heavy-duty trucks with manual gearboxes.
- Transport cargo safely to designated destinations across borders.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Ensure all cargo is loaded, secured, and transported according to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate trip records, logbooks, fuel records, and delivery documentation.
- Comply with customs, immigration, and border control procedures.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, delays, or incidents promptly.
- Monitor vehicle performance and arrange maintenance when required.
- Adhere to driving hours and rest period regulations.
- Maintain a professional relationship with clients, customs officials, and company representatives.
Requirements
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Valid Passport.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience driving heavy-duty manual transmission trucks.
- Proven cross-border driving experience within Southern Africa.
- Good knowledge of SADC cross-border routes and border procedures.
- Ability to read and complete transport documentation.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
