Employment Type: Permanent / Full-Time

This role is suited to an individual with deep industry relationships and a strong understanding of the DRC market. The successful candidate will be expected to identify opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, secure new business, and manage key client relationships from day one.
The ideal candidate will have an established network within the construction and cement industries, including relationships with contractors, developers, distributors, manufacturers, project owners, procurement teams, and key decision-makers. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring an individual who can hit the ground running and generate commercial opportunities immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies focused on the construction, cement, and industrial sectors in the DRC.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities with major contractors, developers, infrastructure projects, cement producers, industrial clients, and related stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across the industry.
- Lead commercial negotiations and support the preparation of proposals, quotations, contracts, and service agreements.
- Represent the business at client meetings, industry events, project sites, and stakeholder engagements.
- Coordinate site visits and business development activities across the DRC.
This role is highly field-oriented and will require extensive travel throughout the DRC.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, commercial management, or strategic account management.
- Proven experience within the DRC construction, cement, industrial, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Demonstrable track record of generating new business and closing commercial agreements.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and stakeholder management.
- Extensive network within the DRC construction and cement industries.
- Experience engaging with senior executives, procurement teams, project managers, and operational stakeholders.
- Fluency in French (written and spoken) is essential.
- English language proficiency will be advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the DRC.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will already be well-established within the DRC construction and cement sectors and possess a network that can be leveraged immediately. Existing relationships with major contractors, developers, cement producers, distributors, infrastructure project stakeholders, and procurement decision-makers will be highly advantageous.
