About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an exceptional Executive Chef for a luxury game reserve in Tanzania. This unique opportunity requires a highly skilled culinary professional with strong leadership abilities and a passion for delivering world-class guest dining experiences within a remote, high-end safari environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Overall responsibility for the standard and quality of all food products for guests and staff
• Implement and maintain kitchen standards, including regular oversight of staff kitchen and canteen
• Lead the development, training, and mentorship of kitchen staff to support continuous growth and promotion
• Manage all kitchen administrative duties, including staff files, schedules, hygiene standards, and compliance
• Design seasonal menus based on guest requirements and available produce
• Ensure food presentation aligns with the lodge styling guide and brand identity
• Elevate the overall food experience, including dishes and guest dining experiences
• Maintain excellent stock control, ordering processes, and stock rotation systems
• Ensure proactive maintenance and care of all kitchen equipment
• Oversee and check all food leaving the kitchen before service
• Engage with guests on arrival where possible, building relationships and recognising names
• Maintain strong guest interaction, encourage feedback, and continuously improve the dining experience
• Manage dietary requirements effectively for both guests and staff
• Maintain strong communication with all chefs, HODs, lodge management, suppliers, and food teams
• Foster discipline, fairness, and professionalism within the kitchen, acting as a role model
Requirements
Formal culinary qualification is essential. Minimum of 2 years’ management experience, ideally within a 5-star hospitality environment. Proven ability to perform under pressure with exceptional attention to detail. Strong guest focus with a positive, proactive attitude. Excellent team player with a willingness to learn and develop.
