About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accountant to take full ownership of a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on accounting experience in an outsourced or professional services environment, with a proven ability to prepare full sets of accounts and financial statements independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complete accounting records from source documents through to trial balance
- Process and review journals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Prepare annual financial statements in line with relevant standards
- Handle payroll processing, PAYE, VAT, and other statutory submissions
- Manage and review client tax compliance and liaise with external tax authorities where required
- Respond to technical queries from external auditors and reviewers
- Ensure accuracy, speed, and attention to detail across all client deliverables
- Work closely with senior management on complex accounting issues
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and future trainees
- Engage with clients professionally across different industries and cultures
Requirements
- Strong hands-on accounting experience in an outsourced or professional services environment
- Proven ability to prepare full sets of accounts and financial statements independently
- Sound working knowledge of VAT, PAYE, payroll, and basic tax compliance
- High attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Confident working independently while managing multiple client deadlines
Qualifications
SAIPA-accredited articles completed and signed off OR recently registered Professional Accountant
