About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Supervisor to join our FMCG team, responsible for driving sales growth and leading a high-performing team of sales representatives and drivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
- Monitor team performance and implement corrective action where required
- Analyse sales data and identify opportunities for growth
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of sales representatives and drivers
- Conduct regular performance reviews and on-the-job training
- Ensure discipline and adherence to company policies
- Oversee daily route planning and delivery schedules
- Ensure optimal product availability and on-time deliveries
- Monitor returns, damages, and expired stock (critical in bread/perishables)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and retailers
- Resolve customer complaints efficiently
- Identify new business opportunities and expand customer base
- Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO) to minimize waste
- Monitor shelf space, product visibility, and merchandising standards
- Coordinate with warehouse and production teams
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts
- Track KPIs such as volume, revenue, strike rate, and returns
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)
- Diploma/Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management (Advantageous)
- 1-3 years’ experience in FMCG sales
- Proven experience in bread or perishable goods sales (highly preferred)
- At least 2-3 years in a supervisory or team leader role
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong knowledge of stock control and merchandising principles
