About the Role
The Key Recruitment Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their team in Cape Town. As a key member of the finance function, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and preparing financial statements. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and process all financial transactions accurately and timeously
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of all account balances
- Perform month-end tasks including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and depreciation
- Manage month-end and year-end close out procedures
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register
- Prepare and manage cashflow reconciliations
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) as a minimum
- A relevant financial qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ bookkeeping experience, preferably within the building or construction industry
- Own reliable transport essential
- Must reside in or near the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town
- Proficiency in Buildsmart accounting software will be a strong advantage
- Solid working knowledge of Pastel Payroll
- Advanced computer literacy, with particular strength in Microsoft Excel

Salary & Benefits
- Salary is negotiable and will be structured on a Cost to Company (CTC) basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Leave is aligned with the company’s contractor shutdown period over December and January.
