About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Workshop Manager to join our team in South Africa. As a seasoned professional with experience in engineering and workshop management, you will provide technical advice and support to company management and farm operations, while overseeing the maintenance and repair of various equipment and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and engineering support to company management and farm operations
- Oversee maintenance, servicing and repair of all vehicles, machinery, and equipment
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation for servicing, maintenance and compliance
- Manage maintenance and repair of all buildings and infrastructure, including housing, offices, dams, water systems, roads, airstrips and electrical supplies
- Oversee installation and maintenance of irrigation systems and associated infrastructure
- Procure spare parts, tools and building materials and manage inventory levels
- Recruit, train, supervise and mentor technicians and workshop staff
- Manage employee relations, performance, training and staff welfare initiatives
- Control workshop budgets, monitor costs and identify efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, health & safety regulations and company policies
Requirements
- Matric Qualified Mechanic or Engineer (Agricultural, Mechanical, Vehicle, Machinery or related field)
- Proven experience in engineering and workshop management, preferably within agriculture or heavy equipment environments
- Strong understanding of machinery, vehicle, irrigation and infrastructure maintenance
- Experience managing staff, including recruitment, training, supervision and labour relations
