About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantitative Analyst to join our team in Stellenbosch, responsible for conducting end-to-end model validations across multiple risk and business domains. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit risk modelling and scorecard development, with a passion for analytics and modelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct end-to-end model validations across multiple risk and business domains
  • Build challenger models to assess model performance, robustness, and accuracy
  • Evaluate model governance, assumptions, methodologies, and implementation
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Perform predictive modelling and statistical analysis
  • Validate credit risk, financial, fraud, and behavioural models
  • Collaborate with model developers and business stakeholders to ensure models remain fit-for-purpose
  • Contribute to strong risk management practices and regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Minimum 36 years of experience in credit risk modelling and scorecard development
  • Strong exposure to application and behavioural scorecards
  • Experience in scorecard validation, monitoring, and performance tracking
  • Proven predictive modelling and data mining capability
  • Solid understanding of the end-to-end credit lifecycle
  • Strong statistical and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Quantitative Finance, or a related quantitative field

Honours degree or postgraduate qualification highly advantageous
