About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Receptionist/ Switchboard Operator to join our team at Stellenbosch. As the first point of contact for our esteemed guests, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality and ensuring seamless experiences across our estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests entering and exiting the reception area with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality
- Provide accurate information about the estate, including its facilities, art collections, and guest experiences
- Conduct guided tours of the estate for guests where required
- Manage incoming calls via the switchboard, ensuring prompt and professional handling
- Direct calls to the relevant departments and assist callers based on the nature of their enquiry
- Maintain and update relevant data and records related to reception activities
- Prepare and circulate important internal communications across departments
- Ensure restaurant booking sheets (lunch and dinner) are shared with the appropriate teams
- Escalate and communicate any guest concerns or feedback to management in a timely manner
Requirements
- Grade 12 essential
- A qualification in hospitality would be advantageous
- 1-2 years experience in a reception or similar front-of-house role preferred
- Strong telephone etiquette and a customer-focused approach
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
