About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Table View, South Africa. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our operational sites by implementing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and company standards
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Investigate workplace incidents and compile detailed reports
- Facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives
- Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation
- Support the implementation of digital and AI-enabled safety systems
- Promote a strong safety culture across operational teams
Requirements
- NOSA certification or equivalent health and safety qualification
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English
- Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation
- Previous experience in manufacturing, recycling, engineering, scrap metal, or industrial environments preferred
- Strong reporting, administration, and communication skills
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to work with digital systems
