About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Forester to join our team, with a strong background in plantation management, silviculture, conservation, harvesting, fire protection, and roads maintenance. As a Forester, you will be responsible for managing our operational activities, ensuring the sustainable use of our forests, and maintaining our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage plantations and ensure sustainable forest management practices
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor forest health and detect any signs of pests or diseases
  • Develop and implement fire protection plans to prevent wildfires from spreading
  • Collaborate with contractors and other stakeholders to achieve project goals
  • Perform firefighting duties as required, including standby duty
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on forest management activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven operational plantation management experience
  • Degree or Diploma in Forestry (National Diploma or BSc Degree)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Firefighting experience essential – ICS300 certification required
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an advantage

Qualifications

  • Matric Certificate/Grade 12
  • Degree or Diploma in Forestry (National Diploma or BSc Degree)
