About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to lead our luxury boutique hotel’s kitchen team in the KZN Midlands region. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating delicious and innovative menus that showcase our hotel’s commitment to fine dining. With a minimum of 4-5 years experience as an executive chef in a 5-star hotel or boutique property environment, we are looking for someone who is creative, passionate about food, and dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all company policies, procedures, and standard operating processes are adhered to
  • Efficiently run the kitchen
  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to company standards
  • Work towards exceeding customer expectations by promoting high levels of service
  • Regularly update menus to ensure freshness, seasonal appropriateness, and reflection of global trends
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen cleaning schedules and staff management

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-5 years experience as an executive chef in a 5-star hotel or boutique property environment
  • Culinary diploma
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle criticism from customers
  • Ability to maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen area
