Job Description

Hire Resolve is assisting a leading consulting firm in the civil engineering industry in their search for an Engineering Draughtsperson to join their team in Pretoria. Dedicated to delivering high-quality designs and ensuring the successful completion of projects that positively impact communities, our client’s team consists of talented professionals who are committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Interpret and translate engineering sketches, notes, and specifications into accurate technical drawings.
  • Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Review and revise drawings as necessary based on feedback from engineers and clients.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Assist with site visits and surveys as needed to gather information for drawings and designs.
  • Work closely with the drafting team to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Stay updated on advancements in CAD software and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Engineering Draughtsman in the civil consulting industry.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting technical drawings and plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, terminology, and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., SANS, ISO, etc.).
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with GIS software and 3D modelling tools is a plus.
