Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Interpret and translate engineering sketches, notes, and specifications into accurate technical drawings.
- Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Review and revise drawings as necessary based on feedback from engineers and clients.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
- Assist with site visits and surveys as needed to gather information for drawings and designs.
- Work closely with the drafting team to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Stay updated on advancements in CAD software and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma or degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Engineering Draughtsman in the civil consulting industry.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting technical drawings and plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, terminology, and construction practices.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., SANS, ISO, etc.).
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with GIS software and 3D modelling tools is a plus.
