About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Pretoria, South Africa. As a key member of our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, conducting regular inspections, and implementing risk management strategies to minimize workplace hazards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct OHS inspections, audits, and compliance assessments
- Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement control measures
- Investigate incidents and accidents, recommend corrective actions, and maintain incident registers
- Prepare statutory documentation and health and safety reports
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Analyze data on health and safety performance and compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to management
Requirements
- 2 – 3 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety Management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience using OHS management systems or digital inspection tools
Qualifications
- SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certification (desirable)
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field (essential)
