About the Role

Safari JOBS Ltd is seeking an exceptional Couple: Head Chef & Senior Wellness Therapist to join their 5-star safari lodge in the Greater Kruger. This rare opportunity combines luxury hospitality, wellness, food, nature, and the magic of the bush, offering a unique chance for a couple to combine their individual professional strengths within a refined environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create wholesome, home-style African cuisine with a fresh, seasonal, wellness-inspired approach
  • Conduct regular stock-takes and orders while ensuring all associated paperwork is promptly and accurately completed
  • Ensure that any food-related guest queries, including personalised dietary requirements, are attended to
  • Maintain the hygiene standards for compliance
  • Manage employee relations
  • Conduct training on all kitchen operations if and when required
  • Prioritize hygiene, as well as health and safety standards
  • Perform various wellness treatments
  • Host guests in the evenings, from time to time
  • Oversee minimal duties when Wellness Manager is on leave (stock takes, etc)

Requirements

  • Grounded, professional, mature, and warm with a strong five-star lodge background
  • Natural ability to contribute positively to a close-knit team
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have worked in a 5-star lodge environment
  • Own vehicle and both parties to hold valid licences
  • Non-smokers

Qualifications

  • Chef-related qualification (e.g. CIDESCO/ITEC)
  • Ability to create and cook wholesome, home-style African cuisine with a fresh, seasonal, wellness-inspired approach
  • Yoga experience would be highly beneficial
  • Experience as a Senior Therapist
  • Basic Salary – Head Chef: R18,000.00 per month; Basic Salary – Therapist: R14,500.00 (set salary / no comm) per month

Salary & Benefits

  • Live-in accommodation, shared as a couple
  • Part of staff split gratuity pool unless individual gratuity is stipulated (often occurs in this spa dept.)
  • Additional cash value meal allowance of R3,370.00 pp (R6,740.00 per couple) per month
  • Uniform
  • Medical Aid – 50% company contribution
  • Facilities available for both personal and uniform laundry
  • Bednight benefit for visitors

Work Cycle

  • 27 consecutive working days followed by 9 consecutive rest days each month
  • Additional 6 floating leave days are provided per annum
  • Annual leave is incorporated within the work cycle structure, applicable after three months of successful employment.
