About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Draughtsman to join our team in Port Elizabeth, responsible for creating accurate technical drawings and supporting the Project Management team in converting concepts into detailed plans using AutoCAD. The successful candidate will ensure precision, compliance with industry standards, and effective collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed technical designs, drawings and effective concepts using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Work alongside Senior Project manager to design concepts and components to meet strict requirements.
  • Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry codes and ISO standards.
  • Revise and update CAD and drawings based on feedback and project requirements.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility of designs.
  • Create orderly system for easy accessibility to previous drawings.
  • Ensure engineering change versions are sequential and stored.
  • Ensure revisions are updated accordingly on the drawing.
  • Ensure designs are updated with the most recent revisions.
  • Design parts which improve on previous negative aspects.
  • Ensure every job corresponds with a CAD drawing.

Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Relevant Draughting qualification or certificate
  • 3–5 years’ experience in technical AutoCAD drawing, preferably in Manufacturing/Toolroom/Engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential)
  • Vast knowledge of fabrication designs and concepts
  • Sheet metal design experience essential
  • 3D Simulations and Animations experience highly advantageous
