About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrician/Millwright to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As an integral member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our equipment and minimizing downtime. Key Responsibilities

  • Repairs and diagnoses root causes of equipment failures and carries out repairs efficiently.
  • Minimizes equipment downtime and prevents further damage through prompt fault rectification.
  • Ensures optimal equipment performance by applying relevant technical and engineering standards.
  • Completes and closes all maintenance job cards upon completion of work.
  • Supports Production by proactively identifying potential issues and resolving process-related problems.
  • Provides reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on repairs, production support, and downtime.
  • Maintains accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Conducts first-off inspections and daily equipment checks on process changes.
  • Performs predictive, preventative, and planned maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnoses equipment issues and carries out required maintenance work.
  • Coordinates maintenance schedules with Supervisors and Production teams.
  • Ensures availability of parts required for maintenance activities.
  • Reports unusual equipment conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assists with the training and development of Apprentices.
  • Prepares training equipment and machines for practical learning.
  • Supports corrective maintenance training initiatives.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 4)
  • Trade Test: Electrician or Millwright (NQF 5)
