About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Engineer to lead our engineering and infrastructure programmes and projects in Cape Town City Centre. As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, professional standards, and organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications of projects.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
- Develop and design systems and structures in line with built environment standards using design software and drawing tools.
- Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other) to assess potential risks, materials, and costs.
- Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labour to determine project feasibility.
- Manage the planning and implementation of Human Settlement Development projects undertaken by the Provincial Department of Human Settlements.
Requirements
- Degree or BTech in Engineering
- Professional registration is a requirement (Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) / Professional Technologist (B-Tech))
- Minimum of 10 years relevant engineering experience
- Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or capital projects

Salary: R1 015 600 – R1 320 300 per annum
