About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Asset Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full fixed asset lifecycle, ensuring strict compliance with internal controls, IFRS, tax regulations and insurance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full fixed asset lifecycle including acquisitions, disposals, transfers and monthly reconciliations
- Conduct physical asset verification, tagging oversight and discrepancy resolution across group locations
- Prepare movement schedules for accounting and tax, deliver monthly asset reports and support budgeting and forecasting
- Ensure strict compliance with internal controls, IFRS, tax regulations and insurance requirements, including claims reporting and annual declarations
- Participate in fixed asset-related projects, maintain financial policies and procedures, and uphold company values through strong teamwork, accountability and effective communication
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience managing fixed assets, preferably across multi-location environments
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation relating to fixed assets
- Advanced Excel proficiency with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience reconciling FAR to GL, conducting physical audits, preparing movement schedules and supporting audit processes
- Deadline driven, analytical, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- B Compt (Hons) with articles preferred
