About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Lodge Manager to join our team at an upscale lodge in South Africa. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless guest experiences, efficient operations, and effective staff management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hosting of guests at the lodge
  • Check-in and check-out of guests
  • Stock control and orders in various departments
  • Close collaboration with the lodge manager

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • A formal qualification in hospitality management
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a 4/5-star lodge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage staff
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Computer literate with excellent admin skills
  • Good eye for detail
  • Good work ethic

Salary & Benefits

  • R14,000 per month (package details: live-in position, 3 weeks on, 1 week off cycle)
  • Uniform and meals on duty provided

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Lodge Manager to join our team at a larger property with 50 beds. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, enjoy guest interaction, and possess strong administrative skills. As a leader, you will be responsible for motivating and developing staff, maintaining relationships with repeat guests, tour operators, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Strong leadership & mentoring skills to inspire and empower the team to perform their duties to the best of their ability.
  • Management: Effective management skills to solve problems and make informed decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including listening skills and verbal communication.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and lead by example.
  • Guest Experience: Commitment to providing a world-class guest experience and maintaining high standards of service.
  • Maintenance: Practical experience in maintenance and ability to perform routine tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years Management experience in a 5 star boutique operation or Big 5 reserve within a similar lodge environment.
  • Hospitality management qualification.
  • Strong Operational and Financial experience.
  • High Emotional Intelligence.
  • Hospitality and service training experience.
  • Room Division Experience.
  • Valid drivers license and own transport.
