About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sommelier to join our team in Ehlanzeni, who will be responsible for providing exceptional wine experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of South African wines and excellent guest engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert sommelier services to guests, including wine pairings and recommendations.
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of South African wines and keep up-to-date with industry developments.
- Manage inventory levels and costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Develop and implement wine lists that showcase a range of South African wines.
- Engage with guests through storytelling and exceptional customer service.
Requirements
- Recognized Sommelier certification (e.g., WSET Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- Minimum 35 years experience in a luxury lodge or fine dining environment.
