About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Handyman to join our team at a luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities and equipment are well maintained and in good working order.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and annual servicing of tools and equipment
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from various departments, minimizing disruption to operations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, making necessary repairs or arranging for external service providers when required
- Perform general handyman tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs
- Respond to building maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, including repairs
Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Technical qualification in Facilities/Maintenance/Engineering or related field (beneficial)
- Minimum of 2 years’ general electrical, plumbing, and/or air conditioning and heat pump repairs and maintenance experience
- Hotel or property maintenance experience advantageous
- Knowledge of safe working procedures of electrical tools and equipment
- Basic hand tools and electrical knowledge
- Valid Driver’s license beneficial
