Butterworth: Receiving Manager

Job Description

About the Role

Our client in the retail industry is seeking a Receiving Manager to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the storeroom by ensuring accurate and timely receipt, storage and distribution of inventory while maintaining stock levels and implementing inventory control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily receiving operations and ensure all deliveries are accurately checked and processed.
  • Ensure stock is received, stored, and distributed efficiently and correctly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and always monitor stock levels.
  • Inspect deliveries for damages, shortages, or discrepancies and resolve issues with suppliers where necessary.
  • Control damaged stock, returns, and ensure return procedures are completed with every applicable delivery.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize losses and stock variances.
  • Ensure proper storage, organization, and stock rotation within the storeroom.
  • Supervise and manage receiving staff to ensure productivity and compliance with company procedures.
  • Prepare inventory, receiving, and stock-related reports for management.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within the receiving and storage areas.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and stock handling regulations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments regarding deliveries and stock requirements.
  • Monitor stock movement and assist in preventing stock losses and shrinkage.
  • Ensure all receiving documentation is completed accurately and filed correctly.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Relevant experience in a similar role
