About the Role
The Executive Housekeeper position at a luxury hotel in Cape Town is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations, ensuring exceptional cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency across guest rooms and public areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards across all rooms and public areas
- Achieve and sustain 90% guest satisfaction scores for cleanliness
- Deliver detail-focused service aligned with luxury hotel standards
- Ensure 100% room readiness aligned with check-in times
- Manage efficient room turnaround without compromising quality
- Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance for arrivals, departures, and special requests
- Implement and monitor daily cleaning schedules and task allocations
- Lead, train, and motivate the housekeeping team
- Conduct regular SOP training and service excellence development
- Manage staff rosters and ensure optimal coverage
- Conduct performance reviews and manage team performance effectively
- Perform daily room and public area inspections
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Maintain SOPs, checklists, and brand standards
- Drive continuous improvement through audits and corrective actions
- Manage linen, amenities, cleaning supplies, and equipment
- Control housekeeping budgets and minimise wastage
- Oversee laundry operations and linen lifecycle management
- Report and follow up on maintenance issues promptly
- Conduct regular room condition checks
- Ensure guest areas remain in excellent repair and presentation
- Protect hotel assets through staff training and correct usage
Requirements
- 8–10 years’ housekeeping experience in hospitality
- 2–3 years in a similar executive role in a 5-star property
- Strong operational and technical knowledge
- Computer literate
- Opera Cloud experience advantageous
- Hotel Management diploma/degree beneficial
