About the Role
The child in question is a sweet, inquisitive and energetic little girl. We are seeking somebody to spend time with her in the mornings before school and in the afternoons, as well as accompany her to her extra-curricular activities. The family is seeking full time support as both parents are working professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planning activities with the child
- Build a relationship based on acceptance and trust
- Get to know the child’s special interests and learn how to engage with her
- Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary team to implement individualized strategies for the child
- Accompany the child to extra-mural activities
- Provide support and companionship to the child to enrich her days
- Understand, accommodate and alleviate her sensory difficulties
Requirements
- Experience working with children, particularly those that are neurodivergent
- Experience in neurodivergence and autism spectrum disorder are advantageous
- An understanding of the PDA profile of Autism would be ideal
- Fluent in English
- Punctuality
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable car (a vehicle will be provided for use during work hours)
- A gentle and kind approach to working with children, whilst remaining firm in boundaries is essential
- Knowledge of childhood development would be advantageous
- Knowledge of working from a child-led approach is essential
