Job Description
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanicin an agricultural or heavy-equipment environment
- Strong knowledge of tractors, trucks, generators, hydraulics, and welding
- Ability to work independently and respond to field breakdowns
- Basic record-keeping and good workshop practices
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work across multiple farm sites
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Service, maintain, and repair tractors, trucks, generators, and farm machinery
- Diagnose and fix diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical faults
- Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns
- Perform welding and fabrication as required
- Respond to field breakdowns and support farm operations during peak periods
- Plan procurement and budget on Diesel/Lubricants and spares
- Follow and implement Budgets on diesel and lubricants as per employers SOP
- Design and enforce SOPs on maintenance and preventative maintenance on farms
