About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and experienced Relief Travel Specialist for a well-established luxury safari tours company based in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a seasoned travel professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about creating exceptional travel experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage travel consultant desks during leave or educational trips, handling requotes and ongoing proposals
- Assist with brochure quotes and booking processes
- Coordinate and develop agent educational and hosted trips in collaboration with the Sales team
- Support implementation and testing of new systems and procedures
- Follow up on provisional bookings and convert dead leads during quieter periods
- Load bookings for consultants during peak periods
- Creatively plan and design customised travel itineraries
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with agents, internal sales teams, suppliers, and colleagues
- Participate in emergency duty rotation and work early/late shifts on a weekly schedule
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of inbound tour consulting experience
- Strong knowledge of South Africa, Southern and East Africa (preferred)
- Experience with Tourplan and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with WETU and travel industry platforms
- Excellent understanding of product knowledge, terms and conditions, and supplier networks
