A well-established and historic agricultural estate in the Cape Winelands is seeking a Financial Accountant (SAIPA) with 12 years post-articles experience to join its finance team.

This role offers exposure to a working agricultural environment with multiple operational components, where finance plays an important role in supporting day-to-day farming, production and commercial activities. The successful candidate will work closely with management to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls and effective financial oversight across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and assisting with financial reporting
  

• Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate reconciliations
  

• Processing and reviewing journals, accruals and provisions
  

• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  

• Managing accounts payable and receivable oversight
  

• Assisting with stock and inventory accounting where relevant to agricultural operations
  

• Supporting cash flow management and financial planning
  

• Preparing schedules for audits and assisting with audit queries
  

• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements
  

• Contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls

Qualifications

• SAIPA Professional Accountant qualification
  

• 12 years post-articles experience
  

• Experience within agriculture, farming, wine estates or related industries preferred
  

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  

• Solid Excel and financial systems skills
  

• High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
  

• Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  

• Strong organisational and communication skills
