About the Role
African Echoes Recruitment is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lodge Manager to oversee all aspects of lodge operations at a Big 5 Game Lodge in Barberton, Mpumalanga. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, capable of delivering exceptional guest experiences while managing daily operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily lodge operations and ensure smooth running of all departments
- Deliver and maintain exceptional guest experiences
- Manage and lead all lodge staff, including training and performance management
- Control budgets, costs, and operational expenses
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and lodge standards
- Handle guest queries and resolve complaints professionally
- Coordinate between departments to ensure seamless operations
- Drive service excellence and maintain lodge standards
Requirements
- RSA ID and legal residence essential
- Proven experience as a Lodge Manager or Senior Manager in a hospitality environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Strong guest service and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple departments (FOH, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance)
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving ability
