We are looking to appoint a Medium Voltage Manager who will take full operational responsibility for the Medium Voltage department. Reporting directly to the Directors, the successful incumbent will oversee production, quality, people, and commercial performance within the MV function. This role requires strong leadership, deep technical understanding of MV switchgear, and the ability to drive efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction from project initiation through to final delivery.
Education:
- Electrical Trade or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent, at the discretion of the Directors)
- Valid driver’s licence
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- 5–10 years’ experience in a similar Medium Voltage or electrical manufacturing management role
- Strong understanding of MV switchgear design and production
- Knowledge of MV specifications including current ratings, fault levels, BIL, CTs, and protection relays
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical and electrical drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and exposure to Simaris and NXtools
- Sound understanding of cost control, budgeting, and pricing
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office and engineering/design software)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage long hours when required
Key Responsibilities:
- Full management and coordination of the Medium Voltage department, including staff supervision and discipline
- Ensure production deadlines, quality standards, and ISO compliance are met
- Oversee MV project execution from implementation through to completion and quality control
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, finance, and sales teams
- Manage technical documentation, drawings, and quality records
- Ensure strict cost control on MV projects (materials, labour, overheads)
- Liaise with suppliers and procurement to secure competitive pricing
- Support tendering processes including RFQs, RFPs, and pre-qualification documentation
- Review electrical componentry, designs, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE requirements, and audit standards
- Act as a customer liaison when required and support business development initiatives
