About the Role
We are seeking a Project Engineer for our client in the renewable energy field to provide comprehensive support across battery and hybrid projects, collaborating with various power production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure precise execution of design specifications and effective management of project risks.
- Review contractor documents meticulously and supervise BESS and hybrid installation and commissioning processes.
- Manage performance testing and ensure smooth interface coordination between contractors.
- Uphold stringent adherence to project management frameworks, health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement cybersecurity measures effectively.
Project Development
- Provide support to Study and Design Engineers throughout project development phases.
- Conduct thorough site visits, perform technical due diligence, and contribute insights to development strategies.
- Assist in formulating design assumptions and cost inputs for permitting processes.
- Contribute to enhancing methods and tools for hybrid project development.
General
- Contribute actively to EDF’s center of excellence for storage and provide assistance to Wind and PV workstreams as needed.
- Remain adaptable to the evolving landscape of hybrid renewable projects, fostering potential collaborations with other subsidiaries.
- Reporting Relationships:
- The Hybrid Project Engineer will report to the Engineering Director within the Umoyilanga project and collaborate closely with the lead BESS and Hybrid Engineer.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant field.
- Minimum three years of renewable energy experience, with strong technical understanding of batteries and hybrid project phases.
- Independent work capability, excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management tools.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to evolving project demands.
