About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chef DCuisine to join our luxury 5-star safari lodge in Kruger National Park, South Africa. As a senior culinary leader, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences while managing a large and diverse kitchen brigade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a kitchen brigade of approximately 40 staff members
  • Design, plan, and execute innovative menus aligned with luxury lodge standards
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and service excellence
  • Oversee kitchen hygiene, safety, and equipment maintenance standards
  • Manage stock control, inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Collaborate closely with lodge management and service teams for seamless guest experience
  • Introduce seasonal and special menus to enhance guest dining experiences
  • Maintain smooth kitchen operations under high-volume luxury service conditions

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef DCuisine or Executive Chef in luxury hospitality
  • Strong leadership and large brigade management experience
  • Creative, passionate, and detail-driven culinary professional
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance
  • Experience in remote or lodge-style operations advantageous

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (e.g. Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts)

Salary & Benefits

  • R30,000 – R35,000 per month (Dependent on Experience)
  • 1-Bedroom Accommodation
  • 50/50 Medical Aid Contribution
