About the Role

The Project Estimator role at Jackie Cory Recruitment involves working closely with clients to develop accurate cost estimates for projects, preparing comprehensive proposals and quotes, and collaborating with sales team members to understand client needs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a database of cost data and pricing information, tracking project costs, and identifying opportunities to improve the estimation process.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work.
Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and other project-related expenses.
Prepare comprehensive proposals and quotes for clients.
Collaborate with sales team members to understand client needs and provide accurate pricing information.
Maintain a database of cost data and pricing information.
Track project costs and ensure they align with the approved estimates.
Participate in sales meetings and presentations as needed.
Identify opportunities to improve the estimation process and reduce costs.
Perform ad hoc duties as required by Manager.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Proven experience in sales estimation or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Drivers Licence.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Automotive industry knowledge or experience required.
