About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Buyer to join our team on a 6-month temporary contract in Johannesburg. As a Junior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of compelling retail ranges for our contracted client airlines across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues to deliver ranges and associated marketing materials.
- Support the successful implementation of New Product Launches for our client airlines.
- Assist the Senior Buyer/Buyer in delivering budgeted sales and profitability.
- Take on and run whole categories with help from the buyer.
- Establish positive commercial relationships with suppliers and leverage strategically as instructed.
- Build positive relationships with all clients and deliver excellent customer service.
- Provide effective and efficient support to the buying team by undertaking administrative tasks accurately and on time.
- Collect and maintain accurate product and supplier data to ensure the business has the best information at all times.
- Liaise closely with buyer, suppliers, and accounts to ensure new products are set up accurately and inline with critical path requirements.
- Ensure product, promotional, and pricing control is in place and up to date at all times.
- Liaise with buyer, suppliers, and accounts to resolve supplier invoice and cost price queries efficiently.
- Complete additional ad-hoc administrative tasks regularly and accurately as required.
- Represent the buying team to the rest of the business, ensuring speedy and accurate issue resolution.
Requirements
- Matric 12 or above essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)
- Buying experience (desirable)
- A real passion for product and a strong understanding of the retail market
