About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Senior Analyst to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our managed care and pricing team, you will play a critical role in monitoring and managing claims risks across medical scheme clients, evaluating the impact of managed care interventions, and providing strategic client advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Managed Care Actuary in monitoring and managing claims risks across medical scheme clients
- Evaluate the impact of managed care interventions and report on performance trends
- Extract, manipulate, and interrogate large datasets to provide meaningful insights
- Present analytical findings clearly and translate results into strategic client advice
- Engage healthcare providers on behalf of, or in collaboration with, clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Provide input on benefit design, pricing, and reserving for client medical schemes
Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Advanced Excel capability; experience with macros advantageous
- Strong data manipulation and interpretation skills SAS and/or SQL experience highly advantageous
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
- Ability to work proactively in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
- Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement capability
Qualifications
Degree with majors in Actuarial Science, Mathematical Statistics, or Mathematics. Healthcare or medical scheme experience will be advantageous.
