About the Role

The SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking a committed Control Room Manager to join their Security team in Cape Town City Centre – Epping. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing security operations, managing teams, and ensuring the safety of company assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage control room operators to ensure effective monitoring of security cameras and alarms.
  • Ensure the safety of the SA Metal fleet and respond to emergencies.
  • Assist with incident investigations, tracking, and detailed reporting.
  • Conduct internal investigations into theft, fraud, misconduct, accidents, safety breaches, and other security-related incidents.
  • Gather, analyze, and preserve evidence in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
  • Interview witnesses, suspects, and employees to obtain detailed and accurate statements.
  • Draft clear, factual, and detailed investigation reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Liaise with law enforcement and external agencies when required.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, security protocols, and access control systems.
  • Support disciplinary processes by presenting findings and evidence.
  • Conduct surveillance and monitoring where necessary to prevent losses or breaches.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for the control room.
  • Train controllers to meet required expectations.
  • Ensure employees understand written task procedures.
  • Inspect the control room occurrence book daily.
  • Maintain security systems and ensure they are operational.
  • Record incidents accurately and within indicated timelines.
  • Liaise with dispatch teams in case of emergencies.
  • Compile incident reports and report to management.
  • Manage the Control Room team, including motivating the team, managing time and attendance, maintaining discipline, and offering guidance as required.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
  • Grade A PSIRA Certificate.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CCTV).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • On-line vehicle tracking experience.
  • At least 10 years’ experience working in a security control room environment.
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing a security control room team.
