About the Role
PBT Group is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Data / BI Analyst who can move beyond operational execution to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve data-related challenges. This role requires an individual who can translate ambiguous business concerns into structured problem statements, apply critical thinking, and drive data quality and process improvements across systems and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and investigate data-related issues across systems and processes
- Break down ambiguous problems into structured, testable hypotheses
- Identify root causes of data issues rather than addressing surface-level symptoms
- Apply analytical thinking to assess data quality, consistency, and reliability
- Evaluate upstream and downstream impacts of data processes and systems
- Identify process, system, and behavioural drivers of data issues
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance data integrity and efficiency
- Prioritise issues based on risk, business impact, and recurrence
- Translate business challenges into data-driven insights and actionable solutions
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide meaningful storytelling around data issues and their business impact
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and solutions
- Apply data quality principles such as completeness, validity, and consistency
- Contribute to improving data governance and quality frameworks where applicable
Requirements
Relevant degree or diploma in IT, Data, Analytics, or related field
3–7 years’ experience in a data-focused role (Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Data Engineer)
Strong SQL and data analysis skills
Experience working with large datasets and data pipelines
