About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS/Data Analyst to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our spatial analytics team, you will be responsible for designing and building mapping products, analyzing large datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver geospatial insights that inform business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and support requirements for spatial product development and data analysis projects
- Clean, manage, and maintain spatial and non-spatial datasets following best practices
- Design, build, and maintain GIS mapping products and analysis layers using ESRI tools
- Integrate GIS and other data sources into internal systems and dashboards
- Assist with geodatabase design, schema development, and data standards
- Support automation and management of GIS infrastructure and workflows
- Conduct QA/QC on geospatial data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Develop and present geospatial outputs including maps, dashboards, and ESRI StoryMaps
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple regions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of academic experience with some professional exposure in GIS, data analysis, or related fields
- Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS Suite, QGIS, or similar GIS software
- Proficiency in SQL or similar database languages
- Strong understanding of geospatial concepts, projections, and spatial data formats (e.g. shapefiles, GeoJSON, file geodatabases)
- Ability to analyse and work with large, complex datasets
Qualifications
- Honours degree in a relevant field (advantageous)
