Cape Town City Centre: HR Operations Manager

About the Role

The HR Operations Manager is a critical role that ensures efficient HR service delivery, compliance with labor laws, and alignment of HR processes with business objectives. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can drive efficiency, compliance, and service excellence in an office-based setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end HR operations including recruitment administration, onboarding, benefits administration, and offboarding processes
  • Standardize HR procedures across all regions
  • Ensure efficient and consistent HR service delivery nationally
  • Manage the business as usual HR calendar
  • Manage monthly spend of HR Budget
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with South African Labour legislation and internal policies and practices
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Manage HR audits and ensure adherence to governance frameworks
  • Oversee the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of HRIS and related systems
  • Develop and maintain an HR dashboard for executive reporting (monthly and quarterly)
  • Provide HR analytics and insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the central HR operations team
  • Set performance objectives and monitor team effectiveness
  • Foster a high-performance and service-oriented HR culture
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve efficiency
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive automation and digital transformation within HR operations
  • Partner with senior management, business functions, and external vendors
  • Act as a key advisor on HR operational matters to Head of Departments in National office
  • Manage Talent Acquisition within various business functions at a senior level
  • Support Sales Talent Acquisition team with recruitment processes, compliance, and recruitment activations
  • Manage relationships with external partners such as recruitment agencies, benefits partners, and other external partners
  • Ensure a seamless and positive employee lifecycle experience
  • Address HR service issues and escalations
  • Support initiatives that improve employee engagement and retention

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • Up to 4 years of experience in an HR operations management role
  • 10 years of working within HR, preferably as an HRBP or generalist
  • Experience managing HR teams
  • Strong Recruitment Skills
  • Strong Project Management capability
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management at a senior level both internal and external
  • Commercial acumen

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
