About the Role
Our client is seeking a Junior Software & Systems Developer to join a dynamic consulting-style development team working on real-world projects and data problems. As a hands-on role, you will work closely with senior engineers, gaining exposure to software development, data systems, interfaces, and system maintenance. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who want to understand how systems work end-to-end, contribute meaningfully, and build a strong foundation for a long-term career in information technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Build web interfaces and backend functionality
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability
- Work alongside senior engineers on real-world projects
- Debug, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and project managers in a team environment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in software development or data engineering
- Strong SQL and database management skills
- Experience with at least one backend language (Python preferred)
- Experience with at least one frontend language (JavaScript preferred)
- Exposure to web interfaces (JavaScript frameworks)
- Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Honours degree (advantageous)
